Jessica Houston

I am currently working as a Research/Faculty Assistant for the Joblessness and Urban Poverty Research Center, which is directed by William Julius Wilson at the Kennedy School of Government. We are working on a longitudinal qualitative study that explores the impact of the 1996 welfare reforms on low-income families and adolescents in three cities. It is very interesting and important work, and I am very grateful that my sociology background enabled me to continue working in this field.

UPDATE:

I'm still enjoying my job at the Kennedy School. This fall I'm taking a class with Kathryn Edin on Poverty and Social Policy.
