New Programs and Social Options

The College has provided a number of new social options including:

  • New video game room
  • Improved atrium lounge
  • Mid-day jazz concerts on the weekend
  • Expanded hours for the Collis Student Center
  • Movies in Food Court
  • Poison Ivy Dance Club
  • Big Green Cafe/Midnight Express
  • Weekly community hour (Thursdays at noon)
  • Book and Author lunches
  • The FAST program (lunch with a faculty member at the Hanover Inn)
  • Outdoor basketball hoops
  • Subsidized Hopkins Center tickets for movies, arts events, concerts and plays
  • Free athletic event tickets for students in most sports and subsidized tickets in others
  • Increased programming funds for Bigger, Better, and Later student-initiated programming.

The Tucker Foundation, working with the Dean of the College area, has a number of programs that relate to the Student Life Initiative including the Cultural Extravaganza, "Putting Your Values to Work Program" (with Career Services) and the Service Leadership Group in the East Wheelock Cluster. Tucker has also run workshops for students on activism, leadership and social responsibility.
