The Student Life Initiative: An Update, May 2001

Dartmouth provides an education of the highest quality to its undergraduate, graduate and professional students and fosters a love of learning in every member of its community.

The quality of the out-of-classroom experience is an essential measure of our success in educating all of our students in the broadest manner possible.

In April 2000, after a period of community reflection and discussion, the Board of Trustees issued a statement on the Student Life Initiative, setting a clear direction for enhancing the quality of students' residential and social life at Dartmouth College.

Since this statement by the Board, the College has made significant progress toward the implementation of this initiative, which has had an immediate impact on the daily lives of our students.
