The Board of Trustees charged the Dean of the College with developing a more stringent hazing policy. Senior Associate Dean of the College Daniel Nelson and a group of 15 students and administrators developed a policy that provides a clearer definition of hazing and includes examples of behaviors that may constitute hazing. Early this spring, the Dean of the College approved the group's recommendations. This policy will apply to all students and all student organizations and will go into effect at the beginning of 2001-02 academic year.
