About the Program

The Dartmouth Skiway offers challenge and enjoyment to skiers and riders from beginner to expert. Our ski and snowboard school directed by Sean Norton has a highly experienced group of instructors who make it easy to improve your skills and still have fun on the slopes. They offer instruction for all levels, several times each day. Our beginner's slope and lifts are all designed especially for first time skiers and snowboarders. With gentle grades and easy to ride magic carpet, learning to ski and ride at the Skiway has never been easier.

Individual Lessons 

  • Offered daily at 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
  • Reservations are highly recommended. 
  • Please call 603-795-2143 Ext. 25 to schedule your lesson.
  • Helmet use is highly recommended and encouraged. Helmets are provided for lessons.

Kinder Program (Ages 4-6) 

Young skiers discover the joys of snowsports during an uncrowded time on the slopes. The goal is to introduce and increase skills of young skiers in small groups taught by our professional instructors.

  • Six-week program starts the week of Jan. 4, 2016 (Classes will not be held on Jan 18., Feb. 12, Feb. 15, or Feb. 19)
  • Sessions are 90 minutes long
  • Schedule: Either Monday afternoons (1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.) or Friday mornings (10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.). (Customized times/groups may be available).
  • Lift access is included for each participant in this program. 
  • Equipment is available to rent but is NOT included in the program cost. 

Gateway Program (Ages 5-12)

The program offers young skiers the opportunity to discover the excitement of downhill skiing in a fun and safe environment. The program is recreational in nature, with a focus on improvement through increased skiing time and includes an introduction to gates, brushes, and moguls along with other terrain features to build and reinforce skills. The program is designed to develop competent, safe, and happy lifelong skiers. Skiers are grouped by age and ability.

  • The program begins on Jan. 9, 2016, and runs through March 13.
  • Sessions are 2.5 hours long
  • Schedule: Either Saturday and/or Sunday. 
  • Prior to the first class participants must be able to ski unassisted from the top of the Winslow quad chair.
  • Program cost does NOT include lift access or lunch.
  • Registration is limited.

Adult Midweek Group  (Ages 18 and over)

This program gives adults the opportunity to discover the joys of snowsports during an uncrowded time on the slopes. The goal of this program is to introduce/increase skills.

  • Six-week program begins on Jan. 8. (Classes will not be held on Feb. 12 or Feb. 19)
  • Sessions are 90 minutes long
  • Schedule: Friday mornings, from 10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. (Customized times/groups may be available).
  • Equipment is available to rent but is NOT included in the program cost.
  • Lift access for the program is available for an additional $55.

Dartmouth Graduate Students & Spouse Midweek Group 

This program is for Dartmouth graduate students and their spouses and provides the opportunity to discover the joys of snowsports during an uncrowded time on the slopes. The goal of this program is to introduce/increase skills.

  • Six-week program begins on Jan. 8, 2016 and ends on Feb. 26. (Classes will not be held on Jan 22., Feb. 12, or Feb. 19).  
  • Sessions are 90 minutes long
  • Schedule: Friday afternoons from 1 p.m. - 2: 30 p.m.
  • Equipment is available for rent but is NOT included in the cost.
  • Lift access for the program is not included.
