The following is the minimum time commitment required of a patroller:

First Year
Fall
Apprentice Class5 weeks, one night per week, 2 hours each10 hrs
CPR Certification one Saturday, 6 hours6 hrs
Fall Refresher one weekend (Sat/Sun), all day both days (0800-1700)18 hrs
Winter
Candidate Training
(optional for first years)
4 full days prior to first day of class winter term40 hours
Duty Shifts ~5 hours twice a week (0800-1230 or 1230-1700 plus travel to and from Skiway)80+ hrs
Winter Skills Day one very early Saturday all day (0600 until done)10 hrs
Apprentice Testing Day one full weekend day (Sat or Sun)8 hrs
Spring
OEC Course4 hour class 1800-2200 Tue and Thu every week all term
One all day Saturday Lift Evac and skills
One all day Saturday skills practice
All day Saturday final exam
80 hrs

Sophomore Year
Fall

Junior Year

This is a minimum estimate.

Most patrollers will serve more than 80 hours of duty time each winter at the Skiway.

Most juniors and seniors will take part in leadership, teaching, and administration which involves many additional hours beyond what is reflected above.

All members should anticipate that there will be occasional mandatory meetings and other events in addition to the list above.
