Dartmouth Figure Skating Team
2004 - 2008 U.S. National Intercollegiate Figure Skating Team Champions

Founded in 1997 by Amy Stetson '00 with the help of Emily Schaller '02, the Dartmouth Figure Skating team has achieved great successes in it's short history- an unprecedented five consecutive National Championship titles (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008). The team has qualified for the National Collegiate Figure Skating Team Championships every year since 2000. After a 2nd place finish in 2000, the team was featured in Skating Magazine.

Integral to both the creation of the team and these achievements in the intercollegiate figure skating arena have been the coaching of Michael McGean '49 and his daughter Loren McGean '92 who both worked with the team from it's inception through the 2008 season. The McGean's were essential in developing support for the team and the development of the "Friends of Dartmouth Figure Skating" group as well as the Michael McGean endowment to ensure the team's future. Coached now by Jacki Smith, the team is excited for the upcoming season and hopes to defend its national title once again.
