Description

The Keasbey Scholarship is awarded to one or two graduating seniors each year to fund one or two years of study in a degree program at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, and Wales. The scholarships are supported by the Keasbey Memorial Foundation, by the late Miss Marguerite Keasbey of Pennsylvania, who set up a Trust in 1953 to provide scholarships for Americans to study in the UK. There are no restrictions based upon field of study. In 2014-15, Dartmouth College is eligible to nominate two graduating seniors for this award.

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizen
  • Graduating Senior
  • Nominees should have a record of high achievement, leadership ability, and a clearly defined academic interest to pursue a degree in the UK

Nomination

In 2014-15, Dartmouth is able to nominate two candidates for this award. Keasbey Scholarship applicants must be nominated by the Dartmouth College Committee on Graduate Fellowships. Candidates must submit the following to Scholarship Advising by the campus deadline:

  1. Information Form
  2. Personal Statement (indicating degree program and course of study)
  3. Three Letters of Recommendation from faculty members
  4. Official Transcript (A hard copy with fall term courses)

The Committee on Graduate Fellowships will read your application materials and decide on nominations.  You will be informed of your status via email.

If you are nominated, you may be required to edit and revise your application essays.

All nominated candidates will be interviewed by the Keasbey Foundation representatives in Philadelphia on December 12, 2014.

Letters of Recommendation

The 3 Letters of Recommendation should be sent to Scholarship Advising, 6201 Parker House, Hanover, NH  03755 or HB6201.

Final Application Submission

The Scholarship Advising office will submit your final application with all materials by the Keasbey Memorial Foundation Scholarship deadline of November 17, 2014.

Interviews

All three nominees will be interviewed by the Keasbey Foundation representatives in Philadelphia on December 12, 2014.
