Jack Wilson
Adjunct Assistant Professor of Studio ArtJack Wilson is an architect and planner and teaches Drawing and Architectural Design. He has been responsible for supervision of campus planning as well as project development, architect selection and design review for large scale capital projects at Dartmouth College. Jack currently has a design and planning practice that includes institutional, commercial and residential projects, primarily in New England and New York. Recent work includes the design and construction of two outdoor memorials on the Dartmouth campus, a planning and feasibility study for the replacement of Dartmouth's central dining facility and a feasibility study for the renovation of Massachusetts Hall. He is also currently working with a Vermont furniture maker on the development of a line of institutional furnishings made in Vermont from sustainably harvested wood. Jack is committed to community responsibility, the process of integrated design and high performance building construction. Recent professional activities related to building performance and sustainability issues include presentations and papers at the national conference of the American Institute of Architects, the New Hampshire AIA Conference, Efficiency Vermont, the US Green Building Council's national conference, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association conference and the Society for College and University Planning. Other work related to building performance includes audio and video collaborations with composer Larry Polansky on sound and images associated with buildings and their occupants. Jack holds a Bachelors degree in Art from Vassar College and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives with his family in Hanover NH. |
