Thayer Hall

Thayer Hall is the hub of Dartmouth Dining Services and contains many important campus services.

The Blend, the newest member of the DDS family, The Blend is located in the lobby of Thayer where it is a convenient "grab and go" counter serving wrap sandwiches, smoothies, pastries, and coffee with extended hours.

Food Court

Food Court is the largest dining facility in the Dining Services family. It is located on the ground floor of Thayer Hall and is open from 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 1am daily during the fall, winter, and spring terms.

In Food Court, the emphasis is on quality and variety. Home cooked meals are the pride of the establishment because of the variety they introduce at mealtime.

Homeplate

This dining establishment is located on the south side of Thayer Hall and is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch from Sunday to Thursday and open for lunch only on Friday. Homeplate holds it mission "To provide the Dartmouth Community with alternative menu options; including low fat, low cholesterol, low sodium, and high fiber entrees and accompaniments. Emphasis is on quality, freshness, nutrition and appealing presentation." Meals in Homeplate are truly a memorable experience. In the fall one can see the changing leaves on the Green Mountains of Vermont and in the middle of winter the large windows and glass walls look onto the silvery slopes.

The Pavilion

Our new kosher dining facility, named "The Pavilion," is open! We have received the Boston Va'ad's hashgacha, meaning that this is the only dining establishment held to a rigorous standard of Kashrut within a 200 mile radius. This dining hall also observes halal regulations, and has an option for strict vegetarians. The Pavilion is open Monday - Friday for Lunch (11:30-1:30pm) and Dinner (5:30-7:30pm). The Pavilion is located in Thayer Dining Hall, with entrances located across from the Tucker Foundation, or through the main entrance of Thayer and through Food Court or Home Plate.

Other features of Thayer Hall include:

  • Hovey's Game Room - open whenever Thayer is open, for student use. Free games include foosball, pool, table tennis, and air hockey.
  • Topside Convenience Store is located on the upper level of Thayer Dining Hall and is open seven days a week from 11am - 11:30pm during the fall, winter and spring terms. Topside is much more than the average convenience store. It offers a full line of quality grocery items, health and beauty aids, and school supplies. Topside boasts a fully stocked Ben and Jerry's Freezer, a complete spectrum of Nantucket Nectars, Arizona Ice Teas and Little Samantha drinks! Sunja's Sushi and Mediterranean Delights wraps are among the many pre-made treats that can be heated in the store or enjoyed straight from the cooler. Students can find everything from up-to-date magazines and birthday party supplies to laundry detergent and batteries. Topside is always open to student ideas and suggestions and remains the convenience store of choice in Hanover.
