Social Events Not Requiring Notification and Registration
A. A social event involving alcohol requires notification or registration unless:
- The event is confined to the student's private room on campus and does not affect the immediate environs; or
- The event occurs in a common area of a residential facility and the attendance is fewer than 10 people; or
- The event is open to and attended by student members of one recognized student organization; or
- The event is only open to and attended by members of one recognized student organization and guests that does not to exceed 40 people at any one time.
B. Expectations for social events that do not require notification or registration:
- All laws and College policies (see Dartmouth College Alcohol Policy I - XI) must be strictly enforced.
- Reasonable steps must be taken to prevent alcohol abuse by all in attendance.
- Organizations must adhere their written internal management procedures.
- Reasonable steps must be taken not to infringe upon the community or neighbors' quality of life or regular activities.
- The event will comply with departmental regulations.
- While not required, "Notification" is encouraged anytime alcohol is present.
