Ideas for Interim

Will you be here over the interim? Listed below are some of the opportunities you may want to take advantage of in your free time. If you have any events or ideas you would like listed please send them to Amy Newcomb (e-mail).

  • Travel around the Upper Valley (nickname for the towns around here) for free using the Advanced Transit bus system. The bus stops in front of the Hanover Inn and Parkhurst and goes all over including to the shopping centers in West Lebanon. Talk to a driver for information or check out http://www.advancetransit.com/. This service is free.
  • Get in shape or stay in shape using the facilities at the College. Check the bulletin Athletics-Facilities for info on skating, using the weight room, swimming and more.
  • At Collis you can play pool or watch TV.
  • In the basement of Thayer, you can play pool, foosball, ping pong or air hockey.
  • Hungry? Check the Dining Services blitz bulletin for info on when the various dining areas will be open. Also remember that local restaurants are open for delivery or dining.
  • Skiing? As soon as there is sufficient cold weather the Dartmouth Skiway will be open for downhill skiing. Call 795-2143 for info about renting equipment and so forth.
  • Reading or studying? Some of the libraries will be open some of the time. check times at  http://dcis-oracle.dartmouth.edu/libhours/display.php?period_id=current
  • Looking for some fun events? Check the International Office bulletin for events being planned in Brewster House and other spots.
  • During some interim periods, such as Christmas (or even Thanksgiving), many affinity houses have events such as dinner, which the whole campus is invited to.
