Frequently Asked Questions About First Year Family Weekend

Q: How do I pay for registration?

A. We accept cash or check made out to Dartmouth College. We cannot accept credit cards at this time. Payment on site is the same, cash or check.

Q: Are all events included in the registration price?

A. All events sponsored by the Collis Center for Student Involvement are included in the price. Other campus departments will be hosting events and some may require an additional ticket price. The final schedule in the registration packet will specify which events have an additional cost.

A: Collis Center Common Ground
Friday, 10am-8pm
Saturday, 8am-Noon

Q: Do I have to present my name tag at all events?

A: Yes, student volunteers will be staffing the doors at all events and only allowing those with First Year Family Weekend nametags or Dartmouth IDs into the events. **It is imperative that you check in and pick up your registration packet and nametags in the Collis Center.

Q: Are children allowed to attend?

A: Yes, children are welcome, but childcare services will not be provided.

Q: Where will events be held?

A: An updated schedule will be included in your registration packet that you will receive at check-in. This will include locations for all events.

Q: How many family members may attend?

A: There is no limit. The more the merrier!

Q: What will the weather be like?

A: New Hampshire weather in the spring is somewhat hard to predict. There are sunny, warm days, but it can also be cool or rainy. Check a weather site before packing for your trip.

Q: Is there a shuttle service?

A: No, we don't provide shuttle service, but the following hotels do provide shuttle service as well as using the Advance Transit System: 

• The Residence Inn has shuttle service to Dartmouth upon request from 7:30am - 9:00pm
• Court Yard has shuttle service to Dartmouth upon request from 7:00pm - 10pm
• Fireside - the Big Yellow Taxi service (603) 643-8294 picks up there and come to Dartmouth. (not free)

Q: One of my family members is in a wheelchair. Will accessibility services be provided?

A: Yes, please contact the Collis Center for Student Involvement Office for more details.

Q: Where do I park?

A. Parking is available in either the Thompson or Dewey Lots. Please see maps page for further information.
