Council on Student Organizations (COSO)

COSO is the group charged with recognizing undergraduate student organizations, creating and maintaining their standards, and distributing funding. There are about 110 COSO organizations and there is no limit to how many may exist.

In addition to COSO, student organizations are also recognized through the following areas:

• The Tucker Foundation for community service and religious groups
• Dartmouth Athletics for Club Sports
• Office of Residential Life for fraternities, sororities, co-ed residential houses and senior societies.
• Outdoor Programs Office for clubs about outdoor life
• The Rockefeller Center for public policy groups, publications, academic competition groups, issue-oriented and performing groups are all part of the COSO family of organizations
