Tech Charges

 

The Collis Center for Student Involvement supports Student Organization events with free use of venues and a modest threshold of uncharged Tech support.

  • We will provide up to 4 work hours of free tech support (i.e. 2 techs working for 2 hours each) after which the Organization will be charged at the rate of $30/hr.
  • Student Organizations will receive up to 2 hours of Professional staff support before charges kick in (at the rate of $45/hr).

Departmental events that are student-focused are charged for the use of the room ($75 for Common Ground and Tom Dent and $50 for FUEL and ONE Wheelock) and have a lower threshold of uncharged Tech and Professional support.

  • We will provide up to 2 work hours of free tech support (i.e. 2 techs working for 1 hour each) after which the Organization will be charged at the rate of $45/hr.
  • College Departments will receive up to 1 hour of Professional staff support before charges kick in (at the rate of $60/hr).

Departmental events that are not student-focused (i.e. attended mostly by staff, faculty or community members) are charged for the use of the room ($75 for Common Ground and Tom Dent, $50 for FUEL and ONE Wheelock) and are charged for ALL tech and professional support.

  • The Collis Center for Student Involvement will not provide free tech support to Departmental events that are not student-focused. The Department will be charged at the rate of $45/hr. for Tech labor from the outset (i.e. there is no threshold of free labor).
  • College Departments will receive a reasonable amount of Professional staff support (i.e. the reservations process, consultation on event setup, etc.) but will be charged at the rate of $60/hr for anything over the basic consultation (i.e. diagramming, setup customizations). Onsite professional support, extraordinary cleanup or last-minute setup changes can all incur extra charges for professional staff.

Outside Customer events have a completely different room charge and tech charge structure.

4 hours per event / $30 for each additional tech hour (one hour of work by one tech)

2 hours / $45 for each additional hour

Departmental Events for Students

2 hours per event / $45 for each additional tech hour (one hour of work by one tech)

1 hour / $60 for each additional hour

Departmental Events for Faculty and Staff

No threshold - charges begin immediately at the rate of $45 per hour

No threshold / Department will be charged $60 for each hour of Professional support (outside of basic reservations and consulting process)
