Davilyn (Davey) Barnwell

Year: 2013
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Davey loves paint, sandals, popcorn, peanut butter, and sleeping bags.  After graduation, Davey intends to design a pizza oven that can be folded into a backpack for camping.  She will then improve the world with cheesy goodness.  Though usually making art or fantasizing about pizza, Davey can also be found hiking, exploring the West Coast, doing downward dog, or riding her bike.

Patricia Barros

Year: 2013
Hometown: La Habana, Cuba, living in Miami
Patricia was born in Cuba but moved to North America with her family when she was young. Since then, she has lived in Canada, Texas and Florida. Due to her Cuban background, she loves Salsa dancing and good Cuban food. In her spare time, she likes to swim, run, dance and read. Otherwise, she may be found in the kitchen conjuring up interesting smoothie flavors or in her room making homemade Birthday and Christmas cards for her family and friends.

Will Callan

Year: 2015
Hometown: San Francisco
Will was born in San Francisco and plans to return there at some point down the line. He went to boarding school in southern California, and though it was great, he prefers the top half. He enjoys running, reading, sports, and lots of other things. He's a huge fan of Cormac McCarthy and hopes to travel in Mexico someday.

Anne Campbell

Year: 2014
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Annie was born in Portland, Oregon, and has lived there for her entire life.  She is a Pacific Northwest enthusiast and enjoys hiking, biking, playing tennis, and finding new music.  In her spare time, she likes writing music-related articles for Squeezebox music magazine and hanging out with her cat/namesake, "AnnieCat."  Annie can play the piano with her toes and hopes to sign a record deal after graduation.

Lulu Chang

Year: 2015
Hometown: THE College Station, TX
A native Texan, Lulu has spent a lifetime attempting to determine whether or not she is proud of her southern roots. She pours much of this inner turmoil into her piano, and as such, one might often find Lulu in the practice rooms of the Hop. This conflict has also driven her to a passionate interest in the cuisines of the world, and her most frequented website is, doubtless, foodgawker.com. Her greatest aspiration in life thus far is to be a princess, though of what, she remains unsure. Lulu also thoroughly enjoys football (though not playing it), books, ab-ripper x, fashion, and fat cats.

Jenny Che

Year: 2014
Hometown: Paris, France
Jenny was born in Paris and moved to New York City when she was eight. She enjoys cooking elaborate dinners with friends, diving into clear, cool water, and starting impromptu dance parties. Her claim to fame is conquering Manhattan tip to tip (and back) on rollerblades. After college, she hopes to be a journalist and travel the world. She also finally received her driver's license this summer, just four years behind the rest of her friends.

Piotr Dormus

Year: 2015
Hometown: Krakow, Poland
A native of Poland, Piotr completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma at Lester B. Pearson United World College in Victoria, BC, Canada before coming to Dartmouth. Piotr is an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club and a big fan of David Fincher as well as Quentin Tarantino movies. Otherwise, he enjoys travelling, skiing, watching Mad Men, and listening to downtempo and chillout music.

Emily Estelle

Year: 2015
Hometown: Westminster, MA
Emily grew up in central Massachusetts with a very opinionated cat and the cutest dog in the world. On campus, she divides her time between Morton Farm, the fishbowl study rooms on first floor Berry, and Morano Gelato. Emily plans to spend her off terms traveling the world, attempting to write a travel blog, and maybe even becoming a less picky eater.

Brooke Elmlinger

Year: 2013
Hometown: New York, NY

Lilly Fleischmann

Year: 2015
Hometown: Cincinnati
Lilly grew up right outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, but always knew that she wanted to head northeast for college. When she isn't on the Connecticut River with the rest of the Dartmouth rowers, Lilly loves reading, scrapbooking, baking, running, and exploring Hanover. In the future, she hopes to complete her travel bucket list, graduate from the half to the full marathon, and keep having the best adventures.

Chris Given

Year: 2014
Hometown: Ridgewood, New Jersey
Chris has lived in New Jersey his entire life, but, no, he does not know Snooki (but he is friends with JWoww). After a series of knee surgeries in high school that temporarily derailed his athletic career, Chris has cultivated a passion for fitness and nutrition. When he's not reading philosophy, Chris can be found playing basketball, doing yoga, hiking, and concocting wholesome meals at Collis. He hopes to enter the field of psychology after graduation, but will be frequenting Hanover in the winter to visit his friend Eddie the Yeti in Pine Park.

Chris Hauser

Year: 2014
Hometown: Barrington, Illinois
Chris comes from a family of four brothers and no sisters.  He enjoys reading and writing Tolkien-esque fantasy literature, philosophical and theological works, historical fiction, and children's stories.  He has a particular interest in medieval philosophy and history but also enjoys playing a wide variety of sports, including ultimate, volleyball, basketball, football, and soccer.  After graduation, he hopes to pursue a Ph.d in Philosophy or History and teach as a college professor.

Hannah Hoyt

Year: 2013
Hometown: Newton, Massachusetts
Hannah has lived in the Boston area for her entire life besides brief stints in Paris, India, New York City and exotic Hanover, NH. Besides writing, she's interested in design, urbanism and politics. While at Dartmouth she goes running and hiking as often as she can. In the future she hopes to keep exploring and wandering, ideally in foreign cities where she can get by with bad French and a lot of hand gestures.

Hannah Seulgee Jung

Year: 2015
Hometown: South Korea / Chicago, IL
Hannah was born in South Korea but lived half her life in the States. Having a cross-cultural background, she loves being a perfect stranger to a new city. She is a morning person and enjoys drinking weakly brewed tea. She also reserves much fondness for art galleries. After college, she would like to be like William Carlos Williams, the poet-doctor.

Miriam Kilimo

Year: 2014
Hometown: Kenya
Miriam grew up in both semi-rural and urban Kenya, but she prefers living in the Kenyan countryside, where she dreams of settling down one day to raise cows and chickens. Apart from rural life, Miriam enjoys traveling, watching German theater and opera, writing on her blog, reading "deep" literature, and Christmases with her siblings. She adores her former all-girls high school, and returns every year to spend time with the students and one favorite teacher. Miriam hopes to become a well-loved academic and spiritual writer in the future.

Maddie Lesser

Year: 2013
Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Maddie shares a birthday with Thoreau and Pablo Neruda. As a four year old, she turned orange from eating too many mangoes.  In her spare time, Maddie enjoys hiking, baking scones, playing lacrosse and writing poetry.  During her junior year, she spent a few glorious months in Chile.  After graduation, she hopes to have adventures.

Benjamin Lin

Year: 2013
Hometown: Fremont
Ben is a mostly hairless primate.  He spends much of his time converting oxygen into carbon dioxide, and has become adept at breaking down complex molecules into simple sugars and amino acids.  When he is not actively responding to stimuli, he likes to lie supine on a soft surface and experience rapid-eye movement.  His long-term goal is to cease brain activity and blood circulation.

Zack Miller

Year: 2013
Hometown: Cambridge, MA
Zack was born and raised in a variety of Boston-area locales. Consequentially, he is a die-hard Boston sports fan. Zack also enjoys tennis, warm-weather barbecuing, premium cable TV shows, epic medieval fantasies, dogs, modern American literature, and beach-leisure activities. He has many leather-bound books. You can find him pacing distractedly or listening to country music at an inappropriately loud volume in the Library.

Talene Monahon

Year: 2013
Hometown: Belmont, MA
Talene comes to Dartmouth from the Boston area and is known to frequently sport a Red Sox cap around campus on a (rare) bad hair day. In her spare time, she enjoys napping in Sanborn and subtly emoting while singing a cappella. After graduation, Talene hopes to pursue a budding acting career that will involve corsets, German accents, and voice-overs for cat-food commercials.

Alexis Monroe

Year: 2013
Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland
When not frolicking across the green or furiously scribbling essays in the 1902 room, Alexis can be found tracking down new movies, road-tripping to concerts, or traveling the wide world over. She loves cooking, dreaming, staring, singing, and listening, but nothing makes her smile more than chatting with, well, anyone! After graduation, Alexis hopes to make a Kerouacian move to the West Coast to work in an art museum.

Adam Nasser

Year: 2015
Hometown: Dallas
Adam has born in Orlando but has lived in Dallas for most of his life and is now thoroughly Texan-ified. Although his heritage is Palestinian, Adam enjoys misleading unsuspecting inquirers into believing that he hails from a long line of Egyptian rulers (see Gamal Abdel Nasser's wikipedia page to investigate said lineage). Once an avid soccer player, basketball player, and fencer, Adam has since replaced those activities with other "sports" like debate. In his free time, Adam enjoys playing basketball and pretentiously opining on various philosophical and spiritual topics with friends.

Priscilla Nguyen

Year: 2013
Hometown: Los Angeles and Detroit Counties
Priscilla grew up in the lovely suburbs of Detroit and then Los Angeles, where her family lives now.  She loves all things language, including foreign tongues and grammar, as well as eating, traveling, being with family and friends, singing, watching movies, thinking and dreaming.  Although she has yet to determine how to live forever, become rich and famous, or even get a job after graduation, she does aspire to become a real estate tycoon.

Krista Oehlke

Year: 2013
Krista is originally from Dallas. In her spare time, she enjoys perusing the New Yorker and watching the British version of The Office, with her cat Bridgette. Krista also likes fashion magazines and peanut butter, and she likes leopard print just as much as she likes correcting grammatical errors. If she's late for an RWIT appointment, she's most likely finishing up a run, either in Vermont or on the AT.

Christian Opperman

Year: 2013
Hometown: South Africa, living in the Bay Area
Christian was born in South Africa, but having relocated to the United States as a child with his family, is prone to identity crises regarding who he actually is.  Apart from writing, he enjoys the martial arts, the musical stylings of just about everyone, skateboarding, good food (which he attempts, and mostly fails, to cook), traveling, literature, and learning languages.  He has a potentially unhealthy interest in Japanese culture and Zen Buddhism, and it is currently his plan to further complicate his identity issues by emigrating after graduation.  In the ludicrously little amounts of spare time he has, he finds himself drawn to the realm of sleep, where he can be found hibernating in ice caverns.

Maura Riley

Year: 2014
Hometown: Dallas
Maura has lived in five states and frequently goes on long drives, looking for new places. Thanks to her Texan background, she's passionate about good Mexican food and winter. Otherwise, she spends her time reading Calvin & Hobbes, traveling, napping with her dog, hiking, running, looking for boats to pirate, and watching too many Coen brothers movies. When she's not in the woods, she's probably reading or in the art studio.  After graduation, she hopes to emulate her ancestors and become a Viking queen.

Karl Schutz

Year: 2014
Hometown: Durham, North Carolina
Karl was born in North Carolina but from fourth grade on lived in Boise, Idaho. He's a proud Idahoan. Today, while he misses the oh-so-tasty potatoes from back home, Karl has come to love the quaint New England town of Hanover, New Hampshire. If you see him in the RWIT center or around campus, for an unconventional yet fun conversation starter, ask Karl about South Korea or Korean culture.

Mary (Molly) Turner

Year: 2013
Hometown: Maplewood, NJ
Molly was born and raised in the Garden State. Her latest hobby is cooking, and she's been experimenting with making bread. She loves to run and hike, and is currently teaching herself to swim. She has no clue what she'll be doing after graduation, but hopes it will be something involving writing and traveling.

Katie Williamson

Year: 2015
Hometown: Hanover, NH
Katie was born and raised in Hanover, truly only a mile away from Dartmouth. Her life goal is to "live green" (it's even her favorite color) and identifies with the Lorax. She loves traveling to and learning about new places with friends and family, hoping to explore all seven continents during her life. In her free time, Katie is an avid baker, practices Middle Eastern dance, plots fiction stories in her head, watches Disney movies, and is a compulsive organizer.
