Russian Thought in the Nineteenth Century

Moscow Patriarchate

By the beginning of the nineteenth century, several fault lines had begun to develop in Russian society: serf vs.noble, Russian vs. non-Russian, aristocracy vs. autocracy. This section of the course will examine the thought of the "men of the forties" as well as the call to action of the "men of the sixties."
