There will be golf during the day on Friday, September 23, an official College ceremony and honoring of Corey Ford Friday at 5:30pm, inaugural matches on Saturday at the new pitch, and of course a general celebration of Dartmouth Rugby on Saturday night.

Construction of the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse began in July, 2004 at Garipay Field on Reservoir Road, north of Hanover and across from the golf course. The site includes two fields running parallel to Reservoir Road, separated by a 20' high bank. The clubhouse is being built into the hillside at the halfway line. The changing rooms are below at the Brophy Field level and the Deevy Room and Kilmartin deck are at the level of the upper field, which will be named for Skip Battle '66. Spectators can view games from the deck or the hillside along the length of the field. Construction on the related renovation of Brophy Field should begin in mid-September and both projects should be completed in the Spring of 2005.

Beyond Corey Ford's original bequest in 1969, we have raised over $1,300,000 from our alumni to complete Clubhouse. Donors who meet the threshold of their decade will have their names added to a plaque to be located in the entry. If you have not yet contributed to this project that will erect a permanent home for Dartmouth Rugby, contact Board of Governors Chairman Dan Kenslea '75 at dkenslea@bear.com or 617-654-2206, or board member Richard Akerboom '80 at boomer@dartmouth.edu or 802-291-6116.
