Dartmouth Tops Norwich; Prepares for Season Opener Hanover, NH – Dartmouth bounced back from last week's disappointing home tournament to do a number on Norwich, winning 38-10. The Big Green got on the board early when wing Will Pierce scampered over in the corner following a Dartmouth scrum win in the Norwich 22. The visitors hit back almost immediately though when they secured good lineout ball about five meters from the Dartmouth goal line and scored an unconverted try to knot the scores at 5-5. A few minutes later, Dartmouth took a scrum on the halfway line and following multiphase movements, Brad Fierstein was set free to dart in for the Big Green's second try and a 12-5 lead. However, again Norwich fired right back and were awarded a free kick for Dartmouth being offsides. The visitors kicked for touch, won the lineout and their forwards mauled the ball into the try zone for a five-pointer and a 12-10 scoreline. Just before halftime, Dartmouth flanker Henry Tarmy pressured the Norwich halfback, forcing a poor pass, and was able to dive on the loose ball for the Big Green's third score of the day and a 17-10 lead. After the resumption, Dartmouth went right back to work, this time fullback Scott Penner got in on the action by finishing off another series of multiphase possessions to score the fourth try and push the scoreline to 24-10. From then on it was pretty much all one-way traffic with Dartmouth running in two more tries. The fifth score came when Norwich turned over the ball in contact, Tarmy scooped it up and dished to his captain Jesse Blom, who finished off with a try and a 31-10 scoreline. Then, in the dying stages of the game, Aziz Sayigh split the Norwich defense and ran 80 meters to touch down under the posts. The kick was good, and Dartmouth closed out the scoring at 38-10.
