Return to alternative/modified duty

Under NH RSA 281-A, Dartmouth is required to develop a temporary alternative duty work program. Designed to foster an earlier return to active employment, this program requires coordination between the injured employee's physician and the employer and mandates the injured employee be offered alternative work as their condition improves, but has not improved sufficiently for resumption of regular full-time duty on their own assignment. There is no requirement to "make work" for any individual under the law. However, Dartmouth is required to compare the restrictions of an employee, as documented by the physician, to those of any temporary work assignment which the College otherwise has available. Please contact OIRMI (603) 646-3839 for more information.

Business Ethics Helplines

Dartmouth has established channels for asking questions about regulatory compliance, seeking guidance about College policies or procedures, or reporting suspected violations of law, policy, or business ethics. Reports may be made anonymously.
