Privacy and Online Course Assessment

Are my ratings and comments confidential?

  • Yes, everything on the form is confidential and anonymous. While results are stored in a database, they are not stored with a unique identifier, therefore there is no way to trace the responses on a form to an individual. As such, we cannot retrieve your form for you and you cannot re-submit an assessment. Instructors may see individual forms completed for their class without any identifying information. Results are stored in the college database and are subject to the same level of security as all student records.

Will students be able to see any of the assessment results?

  • At this time aggregated results are not made available to students.

Who can see the completed course assessments?

  • Instructors officially assigned to teach a course have access to the assessment results for that course if five or more students are enrolled in the course. Appropriate Department/Program Chairs and Academic Deans have access to aggregated results for their respective departments/programs.

Will my professor see my course assessment before he or she submits my grades?

  • No, professors only see the assessments after they have submitted all grades to the Registrar’s Office.
