To Select Courses:
Limited enrollment courses are indicated. If more students request a limited enrollment course than can be accommodated, students are enrolled in the course according to priorities established by the department/program. A list of priorities is included on the Banner Student Menu. Students selecting limited enrollment courses have the option to select an alternate course. The alternate course will be used, if available, if the first-choice course is not available.
Courses requiring permission of the instructor are indicated by (IP). Students are enrolled in these courses upon request, but will be removed if they do not bring the signed permission to the Registrar's Office by December 4. Graduate courses require the permission of the instructor for undergraduate students. Consult the ORC for information regarding graduate courses.
Students may sign up for two or three courses at this time. Students wishing to take four courses may select three courses now, and may elect the fourth course during the first week of classes of winter term. Assignments to sections in courses meeting in more than one section are made after November 12 in a random manner. It is not possible to request a preferred section, unless the different sections represent actually different courses. In these courses you will be prompted to enter a section number. Use the Help button for information about sectioned courses.
If you have selected courses and, prior to the November 12 deadline, wish to make a different selection, follow these procedures again to make your changes.
Beginning November 23, late elections may be made in person in the Registrar's Office. Students submitting choices late lose priority for limited enrollment courses. Students may come to the Registrar's Office prior to November 12 for help in using the computer selection system, or may blitz questions to "Help" or "Registrar."
Student schedules will be available on the Web on November 20 by 4p.m. Go to BannerStudent and click the Student Schedule by Day & Time or Student Detail Schedule menu options.
The Deadline for Submitting Course Elections is 4 p.m., Thursday, November 12.
The Circular lists undergraduate courses currently scheduled for 2010 Winter Term. Dartmouth reserves the right to alter, including cancel, course offerings if enrollments, resources, and/or circumstances in the judgment of the Trustees and administration require.
