Charli is from good ol’ North Dakota, where she lived on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. She likes food (like pizza and popcorn,) nice people, beach balls, musicals, and obnoxious hair colors. A Harry Potter fanatic and a lazy bum, she can often be found laying on her beloved bed in The River (stay classy), yelling ‘Accio!’ at objects no more than four feet away from her. She wants to major in government and English with a possible minor in Woman and Gender Studies. She’s also positive she's a Hufflepuff and Lady Gaga’s long-lost sister. Charli is addicted to slushies and any variation of them.
Nkenna hails from London. When she's not drinking tea and eating biscuits, you can find Nkenna watching Friends, dancing to African music, or doing nothing. She is a potential econ major and potential non-econ major.
Besides greeting the world from the hills with a hail, Carolina hails from the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Like zombies, she is fascinated with brains and pursues this interest as a neuroscience major. Carolina is obsessed with food, so it only makes sense that her dream job is a career as a nutritionist/naturopathic doctor. When not singing with the Rocks, she spends her time mentoring with ASPIRE and saving lives with EMS. Carolina can't walk forwards, and she disguises this by being a tour guide to get around campus. Never try to haggle with Carolina--she will get the better deal.
Declined to comment when interviewed. Can you say aca-scuse me?
Jessica Fan grew up in the mellow suburbs of Saratoga, CA with loving parents and a semi-cool younger brother. She played flute, ran cross country, and shower-sang through her high school years. She is now a happy member of the Rocks, and she plans to major in Computer Science. Other hobbies include arranging music, philosophizing, making bad analogies, and daydreaming.
Jess was born and raised in Sydney, Australia but her accent throws people off a little because she's really Chinese. She loves all things musical, whether it's singing, playing the piano, violin, guitar or singing (repetition for emphasis). She also loves learning foreign languages (Здравствуйте!), being Dobby, and eating Vegemite on toast (it's a delightful but acquired taste).
In high school, Savannah was voted "most likely to misplace a car" and that is all you really need to know about her. She is very excited to join the Rockapellas family!
Elena Bird was born in Andover, MA, but the lakes and White Mountains of New Hampshire are really where she comes from. She enjoys skiing off cliffs, frolicking through mountain meadows, and knitting things that never get finished- all while singing anything by Shakira. What really makes Elena tick, though, is her family, her friends, and her plethora of awesome wool socks.
Jennifer Zhong hails from Stony Brook, Long Island (so basically she was predestined to be a Rock). She is an aspiring Physics and English double major, a member of Dartmouth's Global Village, and a proud Hufflepuff. She loves cats, Shakespeare, and noodles in any type of soup.
Sarah hails from Nashville, Tennessee, but her go-to fun fact is that she was born in Okinawa, Japan. She grew up the oldest of 5 siblings, and was a proud non-athlete throughout high school. A member of the Rocks and the Glee Club, she is thrilled to be spending her free time at Dartmouth singing. She loves theater, stickers, glitter, fried foods, milkshakes, and afternoon naps, and her dream job is to be in the FBI.
Olivia hates the cold with the burning passion of a thousand suns, even though she's from northern NJ. She aspires to be as multilingual as Daniel Jackson from "Stargate," but right now she's only studying Chinese, Spanish, and Latin. When she's not rockin' out with the Rockapellas, she likes to visit animal shelters and (in the winter) attempt to snowboard. When folding laundry, she likes to watch "Criminal Minds" or "Doctor Who." If you're every feeling hungry and are out of DBA, feel free to stop by her dorm, where she'll almost always have homemade baked goods.
Julianne hails from the riveting town of Simsbury, home to the "largest tree in Connecticut." She is six feet tall, lanky, and rather buoyant. During Rockapellas rehearsal, Julianne likes to do stretches and sing. In addition to singing, Julianne spends her time taking naps, drinking coffee, watching Game of Thrones, reading Scientific American, skiing, and petting dogs. She can occasionally be spotted running across campus (so she doesn't miss FoCo brunch on weekends).
Josie comes from the village of Rye Brook, New York. Growing up speaking Russian, Josie still has trouble naming vegetables, and thus has retired her position as the cook of the Rockapellas. Besides singing, she loves composing, playing piano, guitar and any other makeshift instruments. She has a passion for mental health, and spends her time volunteering in ASPIRE, and studying for her biology major and psych minor. Josie’s favorite hobbies include running, hiking, and impromptu dance parties. Her favorite snack is dried mangos and peanut butter, and believes coffee ice cream is the answer to all problems (unless you’re lactose intolerant).
