In order to minimize the risk of liability and the life-cycle cost of vehicles, the College has adopted a retirement policy for all Dartmouth College vehicles.
All passenger vehicles that are 5 years old or will have accumulated 75,000 miles by June 30, should be scheduled for replacement in the fall purchasing cycle.
All maintenance and service vehicles that are 7 years old or will have accumulated 80,000 miles by June 30, should be scheduled for replacement in the fall purchasing cycle.
Specialty vehicles and equipment will be reviewed on a case by case basis and scheduled for replacement, as needed, in the next purchasing cycle.
