The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences currently has the following faculty position available.

Assistant Professor, Cognitive/Systems Neuroscience: The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College expects to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (entry-level or advanced) in Cognitive/Systems Neuroscience effective July 1, 2010. We seek individuals who are able to provide high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level and in the graduate program, and have exhibited excellence in independent research. We are particularly interested in applicants working with nonhuman primates who complement departmental strengths in one or more of the following areas: perception, attention, learning, memory, emotion, reward, decision-making, and computational approaches to the analysis of neural and cognitive representation. Cognitive Neuroscience is one of three areas in the department, along with Behavioral Neuroscience and Social Neuroscience. The department is housed in a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility that includes a dedicated 3T MRI scanner for brain imaging research and animal research facilities. These facilities would be well-suited for an applicant with experience or interest in fMRI in awake-behaving monkeys. With an even distribution of male and female students and over a third of the undergraduate student population from minority groups, Dartmouth is committed to diversity and encourages applications from women and minorities. Dartmouth College is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer. Please submit an application including curriculum vita, a statement of your research interests, pdf files of representative journal reprints or manuscripts, and the contact information for three references. Applications should be sent to James Haxby, Chair, Cognitive Neuroscience Search Committee, Dartmouth College, Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, 6207 Moore Hall, Hanover, NH 03755. Applications will also be accepted via email to: cognitive.psych@dartmouth.edu. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2009 and continue until the position is filled.
