Declaring a Psychology or Neuroscience Major/Minor

All Psychology majors and minors are advised by the Chair of the PBS Undergraduate Committee (for 2009-10 Prof. Catherine Cramer). Students are encouraged to review the detailed information about the requirements for the Psychology major and minor found on the PBS website, as well as course descriptions and course syllabi. The checklists below provide a list of all the requirements to consider in designing a major or minor.  Additional materials on the Psychology major and minor, or other information on the process for having major and minor cards approved and signed, can be obtained from Ms. Jackie Bruce in the PBS office during regular business hours (Room 103 Moore Hall, M-F 8-12:30 pm and 1-4:00 pm). Students seeking additional information can request an individual appointment with Prof. Cramer by contacting her via email.  The appropriate checklist must be completed and filed with your cards.  The Checklist for designing a psychology major & filing major cards is a guide to help you plan your major. The Checklist for designing a major in another department, modified with psychology is a guide to help you plan your modified major.  The Checklist for designing a psychology minor & filing minor cards is a guide to help you plan your minor.  The Checklist for designing a major in Neuroscience & filing major cards is a guide to help you plan your Neuroscience major.

The PBS website provides a list of FAQ and the up to date requirements and approved courses for students studying Neuroscience at Dartmouth. Students interested in pursuing the Neuroscience major or minor should email Ms. Jackie Bruce or visit her in the PBS office during regular business hours (Room 103 Moore Hall, M-F 8-12:30 pm and 1-4:00 pm) to be assigned a Neuroscience advisor. Once assigned a Neuroscience faculty advisor, students should contact the advisor to set up a meeting to discuss course planning and obtain signatures of the Neuroscience major/minor cards.
