The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences offers graduate training leading to a doctoral degree in Experimental Psychology or Cognitive Neuroscience. Research within the department is focused in several areas, including behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and social psychology/neuroscience. Students conduct research in a state-of-the-art facility that includes extensive laboratory space and equipment. Because of its moderate size, the program emphasizes a close working relationship between faculty and students, many of whom are funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and other agencies. During their training, students also gain experience teaching and training in ethics and professional scientific skills.
