Assistant Provost
Before joining the Provost's office, Liz served as the Director of the
Institutional Review Board at Dartmouth College - Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical
Center. She is a Past President of Applied Research Ethics National Association
(ARENA), a national membership organization and has made numerous presentations
at institutions throughout the country as an invited speaker on topics ranging
from International Research to Adverse Event Reporting to Research Involving
Incompetent Patients. Liz is the co-editor of the book entitled "IRB:
Management and Function" the second edition of which was released in
December 2005. Liz and her colleague at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
have developed a web based means of education and communication between
sponsors, IRBs, and researchers with the goal of enhancing and streamlining the
processes involved with research involving human subjects.
