Provost Office Support
Mary-Ella Zietz, Assistant Provost, will be the main point of contact for the diversity initiative within the Provost's Office. Mary-Ella is coordinating all efforts for the division and is also in regular contact with other offices and departments regarding diversity issues. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact her.
Provost Division Diversity Committee
The Provost Division Diversity Committee (PDDC) serves as a resource for the entire division. Its primary goal is to work as a divisional leadership team to share implementation strategies, facilitate communication between areas, and coordinate division-wide seminars and workshops. The committee meets several times a term and every department in the division has designated a representative. (For a full committee list, see Diversity Committee List.)
BlitzMail Bulletin
A BlitzMail bulletin entitled "Provost Division Announcements" has been set up for communication with all divisional employees. To date, we have been forwarding most information to you via your diversity committee representative, but we have now also added a bulletin that can be accessed by any employee. Monitor this bulletin for announcements regarding upcoming programs on campus, professional development opportunities, brown bag lunches and lectures, as well as more general information for our employees. If you have suggestions for possible postings, please contact Mary-Ella.
Provost Office Website
Our website includes information regarding the diversity initiative. The divisional plan, a list of diversity committee members, diversity fund guidelines and other important links can be found here.
Diversity Funds Available
A Provost Diversity Fund has been established to provide mini-grants to support diversity initiatives within the Provost Division. Within the context of the current budget situation, we have decided to protect this funding to maintain support in this critical area.
The mini-grants can be used to provide matching funds of up to $1,000 to seed diversity enhancement projects and programs. The funds can also be used to support professional development opportunities or for exempt and non-exempt employee attendance at conferences, workshops and other training sessions relating to diversity and intergroup relations and relevant to the employee's job at Dartmouth. See Diversity Fund Guidelines for more information.
