Diversity

"President Wright has identified supporting and enhancing the diversity of the Dartmouth community as one of the College's top priorities. As the diversity of our student body continues to increase, it is essential that we make comparable advances in the recruitment and retention of a diverse staff and faculty. Academic and administrative areas must also work to incorporate diversity goals into ongoing recruitment, planning, priority-setting and decision-making processes to ensure that this is a welcoming and inclusive community for all its members, and that we benefit fully from our diversity. The participation and leadership of the academic support departments and units reporting to the Provost will play a crucial role in the implementation and success of this initiative."

- Excerpt from the Provost Division Diversity Plan

Many different approaches are being used across our division to enhance diversity and implement this initiative. Within the Provost's Office, our work will continue to focus on providing financial and administrative support, improving communication, and connecting our divisional efforts to those of the entire campus.

All employees are encouraged to participate and get involved. If you have suggestions or questions about the diversity initiative, please contact Mary-Ella Zietz via email or call 646-2405.
