the son of Zev Isaac
Who departed on the 22nd during
the comforting days * of Av
In the Year 5679 (1919)
May his soul be bound in the bonds of life
 

* After the 9th of Av (Tishe B’av) there are seven special weeks, represented by special Haftarot (readings from the Book of Prophets) that are intended to comfort the distraught Jewish soul that is mourning the loss of the Temple and the resulting exile.
