Upcoming Events
- We are always looking to plan new events that will be relevant and helpful to pre-vet students. Blitz us if you have any suggestions!
Ongoing Programs
- Shadowing opportunities: Each term, the Dartmouth Pre-Vet Society helps match students with veterinarians (small animal, large animal, mixed practice, emergency, etc.) to shadow, which can lead to lasting student-veterinarian relationships.
- NEW! September 2010. We are working on developing a shadowing program pairing Dartmouth Pre-Vet students with a local emergency and referral hospital. More details to come once they are established.
- Dinner with a veterinarian: Each term, the Pre-Vet Society organizes a student dinners with veterinarians at local restaurants or at their own clinics.
Past Events
- May 2010 - The Dartmouth Pre-Vet Society organized a trip to Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to attend an admissions program.
- October 2009 - The Dartmouth Pre-Vet Society organized a trip to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in October 2009. We stayed at Cornell, attended an admissions presentation, and had the privilege of getting a tour of the university's large animal hospital (two meter endoscope!) as well as the opportunity to watch a dental laboratory and chat with current veterinary students.
- February 2009 - The Dartmouth Pre-Vet Society and Dartmouth Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) co-sponsored a panel discussion on "Animal Use in Research and Laboratory Animal Science". Panel speakers were veterinarians and scientists. The event was a great success, with attendance by students, researchers, and community members.
