From: Stuart Lord, Virginia R. Kelsey Dean of the Tucker Foundation

To: Members of the President's Administrative Forum

I'm writing to invite you to participate in the upcoming "Best Practices" program, which will include presentations of Diversity Plans by Holly Sateia, Dean of Student Life, Dartmouth College; Brenda Allen, Associate Provost and Director of Institutional Diversity, Brown University; and Wanda Mitchell, Vice Provost for Diversity, University of New Hampshire. We will be holding these programs on the following Wednesdays, with open presentations from 8:30-10am. Brenda Allen will present on May 9; Wanda Mitchell will present on May 23; and Holly Sateia will present on June 27.

These presentations will be held in Rocky 3.

We would like to ask you to encourage the staff within your division/department who work on diversity issues to attend.

Our hope is to learn from others how to construct a helpful and promising College Diversity Plan. Each presenter will discuss:

  • Evidence that the plan is working
  • What is not working
  • What is the structure of the plan
  • How was the plan created
  • How was the plan introduced to the campus
  • Where there any issues related to the roll-out of the plan
  • What issues on campus informed the plan

Thanks for you time and consideration, I hope to see you and others in your department at the "Best Practices" meetings.
