Dear Colleagues,
Two weeks ago I shared the news with you that Vice President for Public
Affairs William Walker had accepted a position at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute. I am pleased to announce that Senior Assistant to the President
Sheila Culbert will serve as the interim head of public affairs effective
February 1 until we hire a replacement. In her role as senior assistant, Sheila
has worked closely with the public affairs staff and I know that this will make
for a smooth transition. I have also asked General Counsel Robert Donin to
chair the search for Bill's replacement. He will be moving forward with this
assignment immediately and we hope to have someone in place by the end of the
academic year.
