I am pleased to announce that Peter Hackett, Professor of Theater, has
agreed to chair the search committee that will recommend a successor to Karl
Furstenberg as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. The other members of the
search committee include Juliette Bianco (Hood Museum), Carolyn Gordon
(Mathematics), Barry Harwick (Athletics), David Lagomarsino (History), Jerry
Nunnally (Development), Reiko Ohnuma (Religion), and two students, who will be
selected within the next few days. The committee will begin its work in the
near future, and our intention is to make an appointment later this academic
year. I want to express my gratitude in advance to the committee members for
agreeing to take on this important task.
