From: Adam Keller, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration

To: President's Administrative Forum

I am pleased to announce Carl Pratt as the new General Manager of the Hanover Inn, effective August 14th.

Carl comes to Dartmouth from the Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts, one of the country's foremost destination spas and resorts. In his most recent role as Managing Director, Carl was responsible for all aspects of the Ranch's operations, including hotel, food & beverage, spa and health and healing services, facilities, human resources, and finances. During his tenure leading the Ranch, the property underwent significant redevelopment and was the recipient of numerous accolades and awards. Prior to his role as Managing Director, Carl served as Hotel Director and Spa Director at the Canyon Ranch.

As General Manager of the Hanover Inn, Carl will lead the Inn through a period of facilities and program renewal designed to ensure consistent high quality offerings and service to the Inn's guests and constituents. He will work closely with College departments and community partners to understand their needs and will develop plans for dining and catering, use of guest rooms and public space, and special events programs to meet our institutional and community needs. Carl will also oversee the Minary Conference Center which is located on Squam Lake.

In addition to his hands-on leadership at the Ranch, Carl is a respected motivational speaker and educator on topics that relate to personal wellness and balance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Johnson State College and is active in a number of community and hospitality-related professional organizations.

Please join me in welcoming Carl, his wife Sue and their two sons to Dartmouth and the Upper Valley community.
