From: Barry Scherr, Provost

To: Members of the President's Administrative Forum

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Glenshaw as the new Director of Community Relations in the Provost's Office, effective August 6, 2007. He will replace Sandra Hoeh who has served in this position since October 2003. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sandra for the terrific work she's done internally and externally to coordinate the plans of the College with town officials, neighbors and community groups.

Peter joined the Development Office at Dartmouth in October 2000 as the Director of Venture Initiatives. In 2003 he was promoted to Director of Corporate and Venture Initiatives where he launched a new philanthropy program aimed at developing partnerships with startup companies as well as established Fortune-1000 companies. Prior to coming to Dartmouth, Peter spent ten years at Harvard University.

Peter has been active in the Upper Valley, having run for Grafton County Commissioner in 2006. He is a two-term member of the Lyme School Board, and is currently serving his second year as its Chair. He has been active in New Hampshire political organizations.

Peter received his undergraduate degree in Religion and Government from the College of William and Mary, and his master's degree in English from Georgetown University.

As Director of Community Relations at Dartmouth, Peter will work with officials from the Town of Hanover as well as other towns and cities in the Upper Valley, with neighbors, and with local and regional planning groups. We anticipate a continuation and strengthening of the conversations and collaborations between the college and the community as we work together to meet the needs of the institution while preserving the special qualities of the Upper Valley.

We look forward to welcoming Peter to the Provost's Office.
