2.3 Using Greenpass

Guest is initially Unauthorized

When a guest attempts to use the Greenpass network, they are automatically redirected to the Greenpass start page.

Guest Introduces or Obtains Key

The guest submits (or creates) a public key for which they control the private key.

Key Fingerprint is Generated

Greenpass generates a fractal image from the public key. The introcache assigns a request number to the guest.

Authorized Delegator connects to Server

The authorized delegator is recognized by the system (using a cookie on the browser). The authorization is checked to make sure it is valid.

Delegator Looks up Intended Guest

Delegator Verifies Guest Lookup

(Current Greenpass functionality includes a text field for easier guest identification)

Delegation Tool

The delegator must select the correct fractal image.

Delegation Complete

Guest is now Authorized

Authorization Cache knows Guest User

If the guest reconnects while authorized, Greenpass recognizes the cookie and allows connections.
