REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY RESEARCH:
Physiologists interested in Reproductive Endocrinology at Dartmouth investigate the regulatory control by sex hormones and thyroid hormones of male and female reproduction with special emphasis on the reproductive tract during the estrous/menstrual cycle and pregnancy. Working with whole animals as well as at the cell and molecular level, studies utilize human, rodent and amphibian tissues to elucidate how hormones interact with receptors and how these interactions affect differentiation, growth, and cell-cell communication between both resident and migratory immune cells in the reproductive tract.
Faculty working in the Reproductive Endocrinology area:
Galton (also molecular endocrinology)
Fahey (also molecular endocrinology)
Wira (also epithelial biology, molecular endocrinology and immunology)
Pioli (also molecular endocrinology)
