Pediatric Education Overview

Pediatrics Faculty

John ModlinOn behalf of the Pediatrics faculty, I would like to welcome students to the courses and other educational opportunities offered during all four years of the DMS experience. A rewarding career in Pediatrics is possible for any physician with an interest in primary care medicine, subspecialty medicine or research. In addition to the traditional medical specialties, Pediatrics offers additional specialization in the areas of neonatology, adolescent medicine, and behavior and development. Plus, there is the added enjoyment and gratification that comes from working with infants, children and adolescents and their families, and from the spirit of collegiality found among health professionals who work with children.

I would like to extend an invitation to all students considering a career in Pediatrics to join the Pediatrics Interest Group. This is an informal group that meets several times yearly. While the major purpose is to introduce first- and second-year students to the field of Pediatrics, we welcome the participation of all DMS students. Please contact Dr. Leslie Fall or me for more information.

Students who have an interest in Pediatrics should feel free to meet with me at any stage in their medical education. Please contact Ms. Nancy Peacock at 650-5459 or Ms. Mary Barnes at 650-5473 to set up a convenient time, or e-mail me at john.modlin@dartmouth.edu.

John F. Modlin, M.D.
