Cake Topping
2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecans are good!)
1/2 c packed brown sugar 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 t. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 c. buttermilk
2/3 c butter, softened
2 eggs, beaten
1 c fresh or frozen berries
  • Mix flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and set aside.
  • Combine butter, buttermilk, and eggs.
  • Add dry ingredients and blend. Fold in berries. Spread batter into greased 9" x 13" pan.
  • Mix all ingredients for topping and sprinkle over batter. Cover & refrigerate several hours or overnight.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until cake tests done.
