My favorite cole slaw ever! Friend Julie brought a huge bowl of this to a barbecued ribs & card party one night, and we all loved it. It keeps for a long time in the refrigerator and tastes great, although the onion flavor does become stronger. I've kept it for two weeks with no problem. Try substituting broccoli slaw for the cabbage, chopping it smaller if you like. Also good with 1 tsp of celery seed, or ¾ c. crushed pineapple instead of the apples.
1 head green cabbage
1 small onion
2 apples, peeled
2 c Hellman's real mayonnaise
3 T cider vinegar
3 T sugar
salt & pepper to taste
