The 2012 Tax Filing Season is here. If you were present in the United States during any part of 2011 on a visa, you must file an annual tax statement with the federal government. The tax filing deadline is April 17, 2012. To help guide you through the process, OVIS has purchased GLACIER Tax Prep (formerly CINTAX), a web-based federal tax return preparation software program designed for international students. GLACIER will help you determine your tax filing status, and contains a comprehensive set of FAQs. OVIS will email the access code to the GLACIER Tax Prep software as soon as the Forms 1042-S are sent out by Payroll and Student Financial Services.

On February 17, 2012, OVIS hosted a Tax Workshop for international students. The workshop was conducted by Arthur Kerr, a Partner with the international tax firm of Vacovec, Mayotte & Singer, LLP, in Newton, Massachusetts.
