Sending the Proposal to a Sponsor

The Principal Investigator is responsible for sending the reviewed proposal out to the identified sponsor. The PI should note the number of copies required by the sponsor and the deadline for submission of proposals. These guidelines should be followed exactly. Deadline dates are strictly enforced by the sponsor. Sponsors require that the proposal either be (1) postmarked by the deadline date or (2) received by the sponsor by the deadline date. Sponsors rarely make any exceptions. If the proposal does not meet the deadline requirements it will, most often, be returned to the Principal Investigator.
