DISCUSSION TOPIC: "Gazing into the Crystal Ball: The Federal Outlook for 2009 and Beyond"
SUMMARY: Keeping track of and understanding federal regulatory developments that will potentially impact you and your institution can often be overwhelming. And knowing that, what happens "on the hill" rarely ever stays "on the hill," it is becoming more important than ever to stay abreast of current and future federal initiatives. This session will provide university and hospital attendees with insights into a variety of topical federal compliance initiatives from the vantage point of the Council on Governmental Relations (COGR), a Washington, DC-based association of more than 175 research universities, affiliated academic medical centers and research institutes. A wide variety of topics will be covered and attendees will have ample opportunities to ask questions - please visit the Region I web site for more information on topics and format.
SPEAKER: Carol Blum, Director, Research Compliance and Administration, Council of Governmental Relations, Washington, DC
