HOT TOPIC: GEOFF LOVES RADG!!!
Geoff loves RADG and Boston and he promises to provide the latest information on the coordinated effort across federal agencies to identify the need for new policies to respond to the rapidly changing nature of basic and applied research--for example, the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of research and the need to acknowledge multiple PIs. The developing policies on research business models stand to have an impact on all institutions that apply to the federal government for any kind of research opportunity that may bring an institution, whether small or large, in partnership with one another, or with business or international partners. You will learn about initiatives to address optimal support for technical operations of sophisticated scientific instrumentation, consistent agency research terms and conditions, and common progress report formats. He will also provide information on the latest activities on export controls and the Federal research budget. Geoff will be particularly interested in hearing from you how these initiatives may impact your faculty and institutions.
