New year funding on NIH Non-competing awards

Please note the following language that NIH is currently including in all non-competing awards:

"NIH is currently funded through a Continuing Resolution at the FY2005 level.  Therefore, this non-competing award has been made at a level below that indicated in the previous year's Notice of Grant Award.  If the final appropriation permits, adjustments may be made up to the FY2006 funding plan level."

If you have received a non-competing award in the last two months, you have probably noticed that the new year funding was below the committed (expected) amount.  Once the new year budget is finalized there is a good chance the funding will be adjusted at the anticipated level through a revised notice of award....However, read the words of caution from NIH.  At this point there is no guarantee that all your funds will be awarded.
