My artistic career pretty much ended at graduation. It's now limited to drawing Sesame Street characters for my 3-year-old. Since Dartmouth, I have been a grants manager for AmeriCorps, a Peace Corps volunteer teaching math in Gabon, a math editor for a textbook publisher in New York City, a mom (x 2), and have recently started my own business doing income tax preparation for Americans overseas. Oh, and I got an MPA in finance along the way. NOTHING to do with my art major! My father always said the purpose of a liberal arts education was to learn to enjoy your free time. He might be right---and maybe someday I'll HAVE some free time and get back to art in some way. For now, it's just neat to know my drawing is still hanging at Dartmouth and I can show it off to my family whenever we manage to get to Hanover.
