Interim housing is a service provided by the Office of Residential Life at no cost to students or departments. Interim housing allows students to stay for all or part of the interim period between terms, dependent upon their housing and work situation. Employers must verify work schedules in order for student employees to receive interim housing.
An Employer must verify a student's work status in writing and submit it to the Undergraduate Housing Office. The student's full name, Dartmouth Identification Number (DID#) and dates scheduled to work must be sent to residential.life@dartmouth.edu by the appropriate deadline. Employers with multiple employees may wish to use the Interim Housing Employer Form.
Employers submitting verification after the appropriate interim application deadline must use the Late Interim Housing Employer Form. In most cases, the student's $50 late fee will be waived once employment verification is received.
Students wishing to work during the interim period must complete the Interim Housing Application by the appropriate interim housing deadline. Failure to apply by the deadline may result in a $50 late application fee. It is also the student's responsibility to inform employer(s) of the need to confirm his or her work schedule with the ORL Undergraduate Housing Office.
Housing is limited based upon the dates the student is working and upon the student's housing before and/or after the interim period. Student employees must meet ORL Interim housing guidelines as outlined below:
Individuals returning from a withdrawal or suspension are not eligible for interim housing unless express permission is granted to the Undergraduate Housing Office by the student's dean.
