Rates and Applications
Commencement & Reunion (C&R) housing applications are sent to
the parents or legal guardians of the graduating students and to alumni/ae of
each returning class. The application is included in a combined mailing from
Dartmouth's Conferences & Special Events Office, Alumni Relations and
C&R Housing, and is sent out during the first week of March. For
Commencement guests, in addition to the housing application, this mailing also
includes information about Commencement weekend, including a schedule of
events, highlights of the weekend, and other general information about
Commencement. If you are returning for your class reunion, Alumni Relations
includes information on events planned for your class reunion activities.
C&R housing applications are also available online through the following
links:
If you are interested in staying on campus in our residence halls, please
return a completed application with full payment by the deadline. If you
are a Commencement guest or a member of a Reunion class, the nightly rate is
$40 per person, and the deadline for all housing applications to be submitted
is April 7th. Any cancellation made before May 19th is subject to a
$25.00 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds for cancellations made after
May 19th.
Because we have a number of guests visiting Dartmouth during this time
period, it is very important that all those staying in the residence halls pay
close attention to the move in and move out times. In order to ensure our
facilities are ready for the next group of guests arriving to campus, we cannot
allow additional night stays or later move out times. Space is limited for the
Commencement weekend (June 6 – June 8, 2008) so guests are asked to limit the
number in their parties to no more than eight for this weekend.
Accommodations
Our residence halls are equipped with television lounges, kitchens, and
common rooms where guests can meet. Our halls have no more than four
floors, and a limited number of buildings with elevators. The residence halls,
although convenient, do not offer the amenities of a fully-staffed hotel.
Rooms are clean and beds are made before your arrival but there is no daily
maid service. We provide bed sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, cups, and
soap. All of our rooms contain single (twin) beds and most of our rooms do not
have private baths. Rooms are not equipped with phones; however there is a
public phone on the first floor of each building. Facilities for guests
with disabilities are limited but we do have accessible rooms if reserved in a
timely manner.
Services
The C&R Housing Office hires more than 80 undergraduate students to help
clean rooms, make beds for our guests during the C&R period and generally
help run the C&R Housing program. Our staff is here to make your stay as
enjoyable as possible and is available to assist you with check in and
questions that may arise during your stay. The C&R Housing Office is
located on the first floor of Middle Massachusetts Hall. Office hours are
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, from
early March through June. From June 6 through June 15, 2008 the office is
staffed 24 hours a day.
